This policy explains how the Steel & Grit Field Tools mobile app handles information. It applies to the mobile app; the separate Excel toolkit checkout is provided by Gumroad under its own policies.
Project records stay on your device
The app stores project names, planning entries, notes, owners, dates and crew information in local app storage. It does not transmit those records to a developer-operated server. There is no account or automatic synchronization between devices.
No advertising or tracking
The app includes no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK. It does not access your location, camera, microphone or contacts.
Exports, imports and device backups
When you choose Export, the app creates a CSV or JSON file and opens the operating system's share sheet. You select the destination. Export copies can remain in app cache until the operating system clears them. Export files are not password protected; handle them through your project's approved process.
When you choose Restore, the system file picker lets you select a backup. The app checks the file and asks for confirmation before replacing local records. Your operating system or chosen backup service may separately back up app data according to its settings and policies.
Support messages
The support link opens your email application. If you send a message, Thomas Saylor receives your email address and any details or attachments you choose to provide. These are used to respond to and resolve your request. Avoid including confidential project information. You may contact the address below to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention requirements.
Your choices
You can delete individual entries or entire projects inside the app. Uninstalling or clearing the app's data removes its local records as managed by your operating system. Exported files, sent email and OS backups are separate copies; manage or delete those through their respective applications. Export a backup before changing devices or removing the app.
Payments and other services
The planned app distribution is a paid download through Apple's App Store and Google Play. The app does not receive payment-card details or include an embedded checkout. Store purchases, email services and chosen sharing destinations operate under their own privacy policies. Visiting this policy website involves ordinary website delivery; it does not upload your app records.
